Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often invisible autoimmune disease that affects nearly 2.9 million people worldwide1. With symptoms that vary widely from person to person, MS is often called “the disease of a thousand faces”.
Early diagnosis and timely treatment are essential to improving long-term outcomes and quality of life. The average age of diagnosis is 32, and notably, women are twice as likely to be affected as men2. Common symptoms include fatigue, mobility challenges, numbness, vision disturbances, and cognitive difficulties3.
At Neuraxpharm, we are deeply committed to supporting people living with MS and advancing understanding within the scientific and patient communities. This World MS Day, we are proud to share a powerful story that reflects the resilience and creativity of the MS community.
Meet Amaya, a woman who has transformed her experience of MS into a message of hope. In a moving personal testimony, Amaya recounts her long journey to diagnosis, and the unexpected joy she has found in an unlikely place: coloring mandalas.
Her story reflects the broader MS experience – one marked by complexity, uncertainty, and perseverance. MS affects everyone differently, and Amaya reminds us of the importance of early diagnosis and rapid treatment, which are key to halting disease progression and improving quality of life.
We are honored to stand alongside FEMM (Fundación Esclerosis Múltiple Madrid) in supporting the MS community and elevating patient voices.

From all of us at Neuraxpharm – thank you, Amaya, for your bravery, honesty, and optimism. Listen to Amaya’s story here.
